About lecture: Psychopathy, Narcissism and Political Power: The Problem of Pathocracy.
People with psychopathic traits populate prisons and most-wanted lists, but they also often become politicians and corporate leaders. They are attracted to positions of power and find it easy to attain them. Such people often seem attractive to the general public, although ultimately they only cause chaos and conflict. It’s not uncommon for entire governments to consist of psychopaths and narcissists, in which case they become ‘pathocracies.’ This explains much of the suffering that his filled human history, particularly in the 20th century. Hitler’s Nazi Regime and Stalin’s soviet regime were two brutal examples of pathocracies, but there are many contemporary examples too. In this fascinating webinar, Dr. Steve Taylor - senior university lecturer and author of several best-selling books on psychology and spirituality – will explain why psychopaths are attracted to power and what we can do to protect ourselves from pathocracy.
